The buildings of the future will not be defined solely by smarter technologies or ever more demanding certifications. The real transformation is often less visible: it lies in how projects are conceived, structured, and supported from their very first stages.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As Elise Rein, Team Manager Advanced Engineering, points out: \u2018It is the questions asked at the very start of the project that determine its long-term relevance.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n

Thinking about the project differently, from phase 0<\/h2>\n

Local anchoring, mobilising local resources, opportunities for reuse: these choices directly influence feasibility, timelines, and the carbon footprint. In an uncertain context, the territory becomes a strategic lever for resilience. Phase 0 is decisive: it is at this stage that performance objectives, major technical trade-offs, and the overall strategy are defined, making it possible to align ambitions, budget, and schedule before the project becomes set. Finally, designing a building no longer simply means delivering it. Integrating the operational phase from the design stage\u2014performance monitoring, user feedback, adaptability\u2014turns the building into an evolving system, capable of improving over time.<\/p>\n
